Unless I missed this information in the description, it was not stated that the small light bulb is of an unknown variety. I thought that similar available bulbs would be as easy to use as the batteries. I don't think that any information was given that would enable me to buy more bulbs either. I could be wrong. The original bulb flickers as stated, but is dim compared to any/all other lamps that truly "shed light" when in use. The bulb/battery assembly is readily removable.
